INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

DEALER INSTALLATION ON THIS ITEM IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

1. With the tailgate open, remove the pull strap.

2. Remove the two tie down strap rings on the bottom edge of the door.

3. Pry the inside off the door, the entire plastic inside cover (go very slowly).

4. Disconnect the cable coming from the handle lock.

5. Remove the six nuts holding the large black plastic tag frame.

6. Pry the frame loose from the hatch (do not use anything sharp).

7. With the assembly off the vehicle, locate the black putty like stuff surrounding the ends of the

handle hinge pin. Pull this putty off and save it. Somewhere in that putty is a small clip, find it.

8. Push the hinge pin out, or pull it out with pliers.

9. Study the latch assembly and pull the pin out, remembering how the spring and hook assembly

was installed at the end of the original handle.

10. Remove the original plastic handle.

11. Carefully peal off the black rubber gasket from the original handle that surrounds the raised

part that the latch hook was attached to. Place this gasket on the new chrome handle.

12. Reverse the process to reassemble the back of your H2.
